As always, at the beginning of our talk we have to learn what does main word mean. In today’s case we have to ask ourselves what does actually branding mean !? There is no doubt that is is common word especially in online marketing and even blogging but hey – can you actually explain it?

The process involved in creating a unique name and image for a product in the consumers’ mind, mainly through advertising campaigns with a consistent theme. Branding aims to establish a significant and differentiated presence in the market that attracts and retains loyal customers. Business Dictionary

Kao i uvek, na samom početku, učimo šta zapravo znači pojam koji koristimo u današnjem postu – brendiranje. Verujem da ste ga već čuli, posebno kada je reč o online marketingu, ali koliko zaista znamo šta predstavlja?

Simple rules of branding for bloggers

When it comes to making your blog recognizable it is very important to pay attention to all visual elements you are using – from logo and header to font and colors. Once you have them you simple have to stick to it and make that “your identity”. Really even colors and fonts? Don’t forget blue Nivea or that specific font Coca Cola used – all elements of their brand.

But do not forget it is not all about design. For us, bloggers, our unique voice is also one of the most important brand elements. By your words you are recognizable among other and, in the best case, followed (or visited).


Kada je reč o online prepoznavanju vašeg bloga, svakako da su vizuelni elementi i najbitniji – od logoa do hedera, slova i boja. Jednom kada se odlučite šta želite pravilo je veoma jednostavno – držite se toga. Možda zvuči suludo kada je reč o bojama i slovima, ali ne zaboravite kako se brzo povezuje plava boja i Nivea, slova i Coca cola i slično.

Naravno, nije sve u dizajnu. Za nas blogere, veliku ulogu igra upravo naš stil pisanja. Po vašim rečima vas poznaju, i u najbolje slučaju, prate!

Social media branding – profile and cover photos

On most of the biggest social media (well lets keep focus on 2 biggest ones – Facebook & Twitter) profile and cover photo are the ones any visitor will notice. No matter if you are there to collect organic or paid audience – their news feed will show at least your profile picture (in case of Facebook I am talking only about pages).

Creating one photo style and using it on all social media (do not forget to follow their picture size guidance) is the first step. To make it easier, and even get some ideas I highly recommend using Canva (if you are new do not forget to check Canva guide post).

Na većini društvenih mreža (a danas pričamo o dve najveće – Facebook i Twitter) profilna i cover slika su ono što vaši posetioci prvo primete. Bez obzira da li ste tu da “pokupite” organsku ili plaćenu publiku – na njihovom zidu biće vidljiva zasigurno vaša profilna slika (za facebook pričam iskjučivo o stranici ne o ličnom profilu).

Kreiranje jedne slike i korišćenje te iste za sve društvene mreže je svakako prvi korak da ostanete upamćeni (svakako ne zaboravite da pratite vodič o veličinama tih slika za svaku društvenu mrežu). Najbolju pomoć koju mogu da vam predložim je korišćenje Canve (za više detalja pročitajte post Canva vodič).

Photo dimension guide

Sadly for us, Facebook and Twitter have different picture size guides which mean you will need to create most of the pictures two times in order to have proper fit. If you are using Canva, simple make sure you have selected Twitter or Facebook layout from the main dashboard and you can start with creating.

If you are more skilled and want to use Photoshop or maybe PicMonkey, I strongly advise you to follow the picture size guide show on the picture below.


Nažalost, Facebook i Twitter imaju različite veličine za profilnu i cover sliku pa je neophodno pratiti te veličine kako bi slika bila u potpunosti vidljiva. Ukoliko koristite Canvu, dovoljno je samo da selektujete Facebook cover ili Twitter cover u glavnom meniju i vaša kreativnost može da stupi na snagu.

Međutim, ukoliko ste malo veštiji i želite da koristite alatke poput Photoshopa ili možda online alatke poput PicMonkey, obavezno pratite vodič kroz veličine.

Eye-catching links on Twitter

Very cool thing you can make to catch eye looks on your link is making them colorful, and best for branding – using your blog colors. The setup is very simple login to your twitter account and than -> SETTINGS -> DESIGN -> THEME COLOR.

In order to get exact shade of color, go back to your WordPress dashboard ->APPEARANCE -> CUSTOMIZE and find color code.

Još jedno podešavanje koje možete izvesti, ukoliko želite da naglasite određenu boju na vašem twitter nalogu je i boja linka. Predlažem da koristite tačnu boju sa bloga, a kod možete pronaći ukoliko posetite WordPress dashboard ->APPEARANCE -> CUSTOMIZE. Potom dobijeni kod unesite u polje THEME COLOR ( ulogujte se na vaš twitter nalog -> SETTINGS -> DESIGN -> THEME COLOR). Cool, zar ne? 🙂
