If you are not web developer you cannot do anything more than get / buy responsible web design, but when it comes to Content and Search Engines – almost everything depends of you. Danas, svako ko se bori za vidljivost u online svetu susreće se različitim optimizacijama – od web optimizacije (responsible dizajna), sadržaja ( relevantnost) pa do prilagođavanja pretraživačima. Ukoliko niste upoznati sa “pravljenjem sajta” onda teško da nešto sami možete postići po pitanju responsible zahteva osim da se postarate da to navedete kao zahtev prilikom kupovine / traženja. Međutim, kada je reč o sadržaju i prilagođavanju pretraživačima vi zapravo mnogo toga možete da učinite. Danas pričamo o SEO!

Search Engine Optimization

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, or in simple words – combination of tactics that will push your blog posts to the first pages of Search Engines. 

Imagine this –  you are writing a post about hair tips. You know that you are only one fish in the hair blogs sea so you ask yourself – what I have to do to be shown on first page of Google when someone types “hair tips” ? 

That’s where optimization kicks in – beside writing amazing content that will blown way you readers there are small improvements you can do in order to signalize search engines that your content rocks and everyone should find it.


SEO je skraćenica za Search Engine Optimization što zapravo predstavlja optimizaciju za pretraživače. Reč je o taktikama koje su tu da vam pomognu da se izborite sa drugim postovima i dostignete te prve strane pretraživača.

Zamislite sledeću situaciju – pišete post o savetima za negu kose.  Svesni ste da niste jedini koji o tome piše pa se postavlja pitanje šta to možete uraditi kako bi ste se izborili za prva mesta Google pretrage kada neko potraži “savete za negu kose.

Upravo to je trenutak kada SE optimizacija priskače u pomoć. Osim pisanja fantastičnog i relevantnog teksta, SE optimizacija će signalizirati pretraživačima da je vaš post odgovor na ono što se traži. 

The SEO basics

Tittle / Naslov

It all starts with the good title no matter you are worrying about SEO or not. Why? Very simple – one fish in the blog sea. How you are going to deal with all of the other fishes? Catching the readers attention  is a perfect answer.

Title has to be shorts but strong description of what you are going to talk about. I could name my post simple SEO, but than what will make my post different from million others. Saying that it is SEO for bloggers I targeted not everyone but only ones who write blog.

If you say “Perfect vegetarian lunch with chickpeas made in 10min” you gave enough information to:

  1. skip irrelevant click (readers who realized that that is not topic for them are not likely to interact with your post at all)
  2. find your readers who are going to interact with your post – comment, share, like and etc.

Sve počinje dobrim naslovom bez obzira da li uopšte brinete o SEO ili ne. Zašto? Uvek se vodite onim – ja sam samo jedna od mnogih. Kako ćete se sa tim izboriti? Upravo “hvatanjem” pažnje već u prvim trenucima.

Naslov mora da bude kratak i da jasno govori o temi celokupnog posta. Današnji post sam mogla da nazovem i samo SEO, ali po čemu bih se onda razlikovala od milion sličnih postova. Međutim dodavanjem ciljne grupe smanjujem krug ljudi kojima će moj post biti prikazan a koji su zapravo za njega i zaintersovani.

Ako na primer napišete “Vegeterijanski ručak sa leblebijama spreman za 10min” dali ste dovoljno informacija da:

  1. isključite sve one posete koje nisu relevantne (takvi čitaoci ne prouzrokuju nikakvu povratnu reakciju – komentar, share, like i sl)
  2. pronađete čitaoce koji su zainteresovani za samu temu – koji pre svega i odgovre na post na bilo koji način.

PermaLink to your post

When you have the good title, your next concern should be the look of your permalink to your post (example: www.blogname.com/blog-post-name ). Why this is important? Permalink structure is one of the next signals to search engines how relevant your post is and to what it is relevant.

WordPress gives you several options how to create permalinks – default, day and time, moth and name, numeric, post name, custom. If you choose for example day and time can you explain me what it will say about your topic beside the time when it is written? Is time actually relevant so much? You get the point.

So far I found that the ‘post name’ is mostly SEO friendly (and I think most of my colleagues would agree). It is very easy to set it up, so you do not have to change it manually. 

SETTINGS -> PERMALINKS -> COMMON SETTINGS

If you cannot set it up, but you have to write it manually than simple follow these small tips:

  • Avoid underline ( _ )
  • Avoid changing it after publishing
  • Make it simple
  • Use your main keyword

Kada imate dobar naslov, sledeća stvar o kojoj morate da brinete jeste permalink vašeg posta (primer: www.blogname.com/blog-post-name). Zbog čega je ovo bitno? Struktura permalinka je naredni korak koji signalizira pretraživaču da li je vaš post relevantan pretrazi.

WordPress pruža nekoliko mogućnosti kada je reč o permalinku – default, dan i vreme, mesec i naziv, brojevi, naziv posta, custom. Ako bi izabrali, na primer, datum i vreme – koliko je to zapravo relevantno postu koji pišete i kakve to informacije pruža osim trenutka kada je post napisan? 

Za sada, opcija “post name” se pokazuje kao najbolji izbor. Veoma je lako izvršiti podešavanja tako da se automatski generiše umesto da sami unosite: SETTINGS -> PERMALINKS -> COMMON SETTINGS.

Ukoliko morate sami da ga pišete onda se vodite malim smernicama:

  • Izbegavajte _
  • Izbegavajte promene nakon objavljivanja
  • Što jednostavnije to bolje
  • Iskoristite glavnu ključnu reč

ALT ATTRIBUTES

The third tip I am going to give you today regarding SEO is about importance of alt attributions and how to set them up. The purpose of alt attributes is to give more description of the image that is, for some reasons, not visible for readers (slow internet, browser issues and etc). If the image is not showed, your alt description will be shown instead of picture so readers can understand the point behind the image.

The search engines are actually blind for images. Instead of that, they use alt attributes to determine the best image to be shown for the specific image search. It is very important to make sure that description of image is relevant if you want to get a reader who will make any interaction with post.

If you are using WordPress than you can simple add the description after uploading picture. If you have to do it manually, than follow the code below:

 Treći savet koji želim sa vama da podelim u vezi SEO je važnost alt dodatka za slike i kako da ga podesite. Alt služi za davanje detaljnijeg opisa slici koja, iz nekog razloga, nije prikazana (spor internet, problemi sa pretraživačem i sl). Ukoliko slika nije prikazana čitaoci lakše razumeju njenu poentu kada vide njene detalje.

Pretraživači su zapravo slepi kada je reč o slici – oni prate opise kako bi utvrdili koja slika najbolje odgovara zadatoj pretrazi. Veoma je važno da sam opis bude relevantan kako bi za uzvrat privukli čitaoce koji će zapravo učiniti nešto – ostaviti komentar, podeliti post i sl.

Ukoliko koristite WordPress onda je dodavanje opisa koji će biti iza slike veoma jednostavna procedura prilikom dodavanja slike. Ukoliko to morate sami da podesite, onda možete iskoristiti sledeći kod:
